Who We Are

Buckinghamshire Local Dental Committee

We continue to advise the Area Team, their Primary Care Directors, Medical Directors and Dental Leads on any issue that is in the interests of Bucks GDPs.

We continue to consult widely with colleagues in other regions and professional bodies such as the General Dental Council, British Dental Association, Bucks County Council, Health & Wellbeing Boards (HWBs), other Local Representative Dental Committees throughout Thames Valley. We meet with our colleagues on the other medical committees in Bucks to discuss matters of mutual concern.

How can your LDC help?

Bucks LDC representatives are always willing on a strictly confidential basis, to offer advice on complaints and Practice problems.

Please contact us should you feel in need of support, in addition to recommending the assistance of your Professional Indemnity Provider if appropriate. If you are unsure who to approach on the LDC, or you want advice from someone out of your area, speak to the administrator as the first point of contact. The reassurance and advice of a like-minded colleague can be of considerable support.

Practitioner Advice and Support Schemes (PASS)

Pass schemes offer support and mentoring to colleagues in difficulty in the hope of resolving issues before the need for a formal investigation. The GDC has supported this approach.

The PASS group consists of professional, dental public health and lay members, all of whom operate under a code of conduct and follow Caldicott Guidelines on confidentiality.

Bucks LDC has been elected from general dental practitioners (GDPs). The Committee is funded by a statutory and voluntary levy from dental practitioners in Bucks
